Keigan Inc. (株式会社Keigan) · general-purpose humanoid
KeiganGPR
A general-purpose wheeled humanoid from Kyoto AMR and motor maker Keigan, with every part including the actuators, driver boards and control software designed in-house and design data to be published as open source for easier repair. It has 23 axes (2-axis head, two 7-axis arms with grippers, 3-axis waist lift and 2-axis base, with a 24th planned) and was shown both teleoperated and running a VLA model.

- Wheeled base · 23 joints
- Actuators & motors
- In-house KeiganMotor actuators, driver boards and control software (the same actuators drove an android's arms at Expo 2025 Osaka for six months); 23 axes now, a 24th planned.
- Hands
- Two 7-axis arms, each with a gripper (8 axes per arm including gripper).
- AI & software
- Teleoperation and autonomous VLA-based operation shown; self-diagnosis to locate faulty parts for on-site replacement; hardware design data to be open-sourced.
- Other details
- Axes: head 2, arms 8 each, waist/lift 3, mobile base 2. Autonomous navigation including elevators, drawn from Keigan's AMR line. Ritsumeikan University's Atsushi Kakogawa advises on actuator and robot design.
